Video: Eastview's Joey King Slams Down Alley-Oop Against Apple Valley

Also check out other media coverage from Friday's game.

I haven't been to a high school basketball game since... well, since I was in high school. For all the basketball coverage on Apple Valley Patch, I've sent some trusty sports writers and photographers, and have edited the material once they finished it.

But last night's Apple Valley/Eastview boys basketball game—which ended with a 91-84 Eastview victory—was the focus of pretty much every media outlet in the Twin Cities that covers prep sports. I saw it listed as game of the week and in game previews all over the place.

So I thought I'd go see what all the hype was about, more as just an observer than as a reporter.

Once I got to the Apple Valley High School gym (which they announced was at capacity around 6:30 p.m. when the game didn't start until 7:15), I took a seat in the stands in anticipation of enjoying a really good game.

But I always have my camera with me, so why not just film a few video clips while I happen to be there, just for fun?

My favorite clip from the game is attached. It starts with a Tyus Jones pass to Harry Sonie, who drains a three-pointer, and on the very next play we get Chris Narum setting up Joey King to slam down the alley-oop.

And the fans go wild!

In case you weren't at the game, WCCO's High School Sports Rally has highlights.
