Misty Scholler 'Thrilled' to Be Chamber Volunteer of the Year

The Chamber of Commerce honors Scholler for her hard work and dedication.

Less than two years after becoming part of the Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce, Misty Scholler was named the organization’s volunteer of the year.

Scholler, who is branch manager of Anchor Bank in Apple Valley, received the honor at the organization’s annual awards luncheon earlier this month.

“She’s just a natural leader,” said chamber President Ed Kearney, who also praised Scholler’s integrity, reliability and work ethic.

Scholler relocated to Apple Valley’s Anchor Bank from Anchor Bank’s Burnsville branch less than two years ago. In that short time, she has become involved with the chamber in a variety of capacities.

As chair of the chamber’s Ambassador Committee, Scholler visits local businesses as a chamber representative. She also co-chaired the chamber’s 40th Anniversary Gala and sat on the committees for the Chamber Golf Classic and the Chamber Home & Garden Expo.

When she’s not donating her time to Apple Valley’s business community, Scholler sits on the board of directors for the Burnsville YMCA.

She’s a volunteer at heart,” said Scott Ramsdale, president of Anchor Bank’s Apple Valley branch and a member of the chamber board of directors. “She’s done a great job of getting folks engaged.”

Scholler said she was thrilled to receive the title from an organization she feels is so valuable to the community.

“It’s a great networking environment,” Scholler said of the chamber. “They play a very important role.”

The Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year is selected annually by the chamber board of directors through several rounds of voting. The titleholder must be a chamber member. This year’s finalists included Christine Cassellius, a lawyer with Severson, Sheldon, Dougherty & Molenda, Culver’s co-owner Mike Budde and Scholler.

“People like being around Misty,” Kearney said. “We’re just so glad to have her.”
